The Emerald Engineers

About Us

Our Origin

The Emerald Engineers didn't start in FTC – our roots run deep in the FIRST community. For five transformative years, we honed our skills in FIRST LEGO League, where we learned the fundamentals of robotics, teamwork, and problem-solving that would define our approach to engineering. Those FLL seasons weren't just about building robots; they were about building ourselves. We learned to think critically under pressure, collaborate effectively across different personalities and skillsets, and tackle real-world challenges with both technical precision and creative flair. Every season brought new lessons, new friendships, and new perspectives on what it means to be part of the FIRST community.

Transitioning to FTC

As we grew older and our passion for robotics intensified, the natural next step was FIRST Tech Challenge. While we're technically a "rookie" FTC team, we bring years of experience, countless hours of hands-on learning, and a deep understanding of FIRST values to everything we do.

FTC represents a new chapter for us – one where we can push the boundaries of our engineering capabilities, work with more advanced technologies, and tackle increasingly complex challenges. But at our core, we remain the same team that fell in love with robotics in FLL: curious, collaborative, and committed to making a positive impact.

Our Philosophy

At Emerald Engineers, we believe that robotics is more than just a competition; it's a platform for learning, growth, and community engagement. We strive to embody the principles of FIRST in every aspect of our team culture – from how we design and build our robots to how we mentor younger teams and engage with our local community.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every team member feels valued, challenged, and inspired. Our philosophy is simple: learn, innovate, and give back. Whether we're mentoring a rookie FLL team, sharing our knowledge at workshops, or volunteering at local STEM events, we aim to make robotics accessible and exciting for everyone.

What Drives Us

We're not just building robots – we're building the future. Every project we undertake, every competition we enter, and every outreach effort we launch is driven by our desire to make engineering more accessible, more collaborative, and more impactful.

A New Season...

As we have journeyed through our first season of FTC, we are excited to continue pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve and to make robotics accessible and exciting for everyone. It is our goal that by the end of this season, we wil not be the only established FTC team in Dublin, OH.
